Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies was born in Naples in 1751 to Charles I of Bourbon and Maria Amalia of Saxony. He was King of Naples from 1759 to 1799 and again from 1799 to 1806, as well as from 1815 to 1816 under the name Ferdinand IV of Naples. He was King of Sicily from 1759 to 1816 under the name Ferdinand III of Sicily. After the Congress of Vienna, he was sovereign of the Two Sicilies from 1816 to 1825 under the name of Ferdinand I.
