The interior of the portico was decorated with a cycle dedicated to the Virgin Mary, which included four scenes on each side of the portal. On the right wall, the following depictions can be found: The Nativity of Christ, Adoration of the Magi, The Presentation in the Temple, Positus est in ruinam et signum cui contradicetur. On the left wall, the following depictions can be found: three angels with Baby Jesus, The Assumption of the Virgin (or Dormitio or Transitus), The Presentation of the Virgin at the Temple, The Nativity of Mary. On the side intradoses, however, there were ten tondi depicting saints, while in the central ones there were five tondi depicting saints.
