A tetrastyle is a system in which there are four columns, including on the façade, as in the case of a temple or portico. The term ‘tetrastyle’ comes from the Greek τετράστυλος meaning “with four columns”. In antiquity, it was used by both the Greeks and the Romans for small buildings.
