The bell tower was completed in 1815, but the third level and final chapel were never built. It was originally intended to be built joined to the church, but a decision was made to change its location.
In fact, you can see the trace of what would have become the door to the bell tower.
The original position of the tower was reconsidered due to the need to complete the scenic layout of the square with an appropriate backdrop.
